Synopsis[]
The battle of wills between Kerra and Antedia intensifies, as the Regni play their trump card. Aulus enlists deadly exiles to find Cait.
Plot[]
Freed from Pwykka, Divis joins with Cait. Sawyer understands that his presence is actually a hindrance to Cait, and bids her farewell. Divis begins to train Cait, but his teachings are proving ineffective and her guilt over her father's departure leads her to fall into depression.
In an effort to find Cait, Aulus Plautius contracts overseas bounty hunters, including the exceptionally dangerous hunter, Hella.
The Regni tribe lay siege to the Cantii tribe's citadel, with the battle grinding to a stalemate. Neither Kerra or Antedia is willing to give ground, and the siege threatens to drag on into winter. In an effort to break the siege, Antedia activates her trump card – an inside man with close access to Kerra.
